The LIFE CO2toCH4 project was proudly presented at the 11th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management, held in Rhodes, Greece (19–22 June 2024), showcasing the latest scientific advances and technological developments achieved within the project.

Dr. Kostas Kontogiannopoulos presented “Demonstration of a mobile unit for hybrid energy storage based on CO₂ capture and renewable energy sources – LIFE CO2toCH4”, highlighting the design, construction and operation of the project’s pilot biomethanation unit under real operating conditions, while demonstrating its potential for replication in a wide range of industrial applications.

Prof. Stefano Campanaro presented research on the role of amino acids in biomethane production, providing valuable insights into the biological processes that can enhance biomethane generation and further support sustainable energy solutions.

Through scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange, LIFE CO2toCH4 continues to contribute to the development of innovative carbon utilization technologies and the transition towards a more sustainable energy future.
