Membrane system successfully installed in the pilot unit

As part of the LIFE CO2toCH4 project, a membrane system was successfully installed in the pilot unit for the purification of exhaust gases, enabling the separation of CO2 from N2 to supply the methanation unit with cleaner, higher concentration CO2 . The apparatus consists of two stages of membrane modules: three modules in the first stage and one in the second. The installation and connection to the methanation unit were expertly carried out by scientific and technical teams from AUTH (Alexandros Chatzis, Dr. Valia Koutsiantzi, and Elissavet Lamprinidou) and ELGO (Dr. Konstantinos Kontogiannopoulos and Aikaterini Xirostylidou). A demonstration of the system’s operation was presented to Dr. Apostolos Antoniadis, the project coordinator, and Helena Partheniou from PPC Renewables.
